About Windfall & Our Gowns
Founded in 1991 to assist homeless and emergency shelters meet their clients’ needs for new clothing, Windfall is an award-winning, registered charity that receives donations of new clothing and other basic-needs items from manufacturers, retailers and distributors and distributes them through partnerships through 90+ social service agencies in the Toronto Area. This is a crucial social service - an annual average of approximately $10 million (retail) worth of new items going to those who need them most. Some of these items would have ended up in landfill sites.
The Warehouse Wedding Dress Boutique
Windfall receives hundreds of high-end, brand-new wedding gowns each year. However, our client base has little need for them and we are not been able to give them away to our partner agencies. Our donors are happy to let us sell the dresses as a fundraising initiative to support our programs. So now, located within our warehouse, we have a fully functional boutique (complete with change rooms) for brides who would like to purchase fabulous dresses at discount prices and also help a great cause.
